Did you know nearly 50% of our Broussard Operations Team are Military Veterans?
At IPT Global, we believe in placing high-impact veterans in situations where they can use their leadership and technical skills to impact a job and bring value to a customer. We have found that drive, work ethic, and the ability to positively impact a culture and work environment is just as important as a candidate possessing a technical degree. Many of our modern-day veterans exemplify the qualities that IPT service companies are seeking in their next stellar employee. Our nation’s veterans are selfless and goal-oriented individuals who are focused on a higher purpose. Many veterans have leadership talents and possess the ability to influence and inspire others to accomplish difficult missions. When faced with obstacles, veterans tend to be resourceful and apply “outside the box” thinking.
Looking for that next relentless and driven employee? Hire a Veteran!
IPT recently partnered with NextOp, a Houston-based non-profit organization geared towards helping veterans transition into new careers after their service is complete. NextOp believes our nations veterans are an untapped resource offering extensive experience that translates well to energy industry careers. They believe that by connecting a driven, positive, and qualified veteran with the corporate partner, that employer would be encouraged to continue hiring prior-service personnel. Their mentors work with each transitioning veteran to adjust to their new roles and cultivate the necessary skills to excel in field work, increasing satisfaction and reducing turnover for these positions.
In July, IPT had the pleasure of supporting a recent NextOp workshop held at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Some members of our Operations team and other corporate partners were able to work individually with transitioning veterans by providing resume writing tips, conducting mock interviews, and interview debriefs. The team was able to recall lessons learned, trends, and observations made of candidates moving through our IPT new-hire process and share those experiences with the group of veterans present.
IPT has also chosen to support the Wounded War Heroes (WWH). The WWH was founded to show appreciation to both men and women who have been wounded in combat, by providing them with outdoor experiences upon their return home from fighting for our country. By using outdoor recreational therapy, this organization helps veterans learn a new outdoor hobby, reconnect with an old pastime, and also connect with other veterans who may be experiencing the same hardships. WWH works with sponsors like IPT to provide veterans with these healing opportunities. IPT typically sends representatives to the WWH Fishing Rodeo in Venice, LA each August. Our attendees each year return with an overwhelming appreciation for the volunteers and the WWH organization. This selfless group genuinely cares for their veterans and stays true to their mission.
